Blog a go!

I have decided what this blog will be. It will be my blog to keep track of my online purchases as well as my reviews and pictures. I love buying online despite some of it's major flaws, like people scamming. It also gives me an area to bitch about selling pratices I see.

I have been buying online only for two years and have been scammed only twice. Both times I should have made a paypal despite. The first time it happened was when I didn't have my own paypal account, I was using my boyfriend's. I'd give him the money for whatever I wanted and he would tell the seller my address. I posted a WTB on a Livejournal community called otaku_wishlist asking for a copy of Miyuki-Chan in Wonderland manga. This one person responded saying they indeed had a copy, I looked at their feedback and it was all postive, so I told my boyfriend to send the money. After three weeks I had not received my book, I asked the seller if they had sent it, I got no response. Since I was so new to online buying and that everything had gone well with everything else I had bought, I held out that it would be coming in the mail. It never came, even though it was a small amount of 10 dollars, it still was a lot to me. I really wanted that book.

The second time happened in 2008, once again it was on a WTB post I made. I never received the item I bought. I kept on seeing the seller buying stuff from other people. I thought it would be alright to buy from this person as someone had bought something from them and they had received it. I had made some money from selling some unwanted items from my collection and that is how I paid for the item I was supposed to get.

There was a time I was very close to filing a dispute. I had bought an expensive-ish item on eBay, I paid right after the auction, waited three weeks and had no communication with the seller at all. I sent the seller a message saying that I wished to know when it had been shipped out so I could know when to expect it in the mail. A week later there was a notice in the mail saying I had to pick up something at the post office. I knew that everything I had ordered was small, so those would be in the mail box. I received a huge box at the post office, my item had just been thrown in, with no protection. I still left this person postive feedback but marked them down severely on their communication.

Those were the only three bad times when buying. I don't care if shipping takes a long time as long as the seller informs me and doesn't suddenly dissaper.

These are the things I am waiting for:

- 2 small drawstring bags with anime characters, going to use them for dice bags. They come filled with candy ^_^.
- An eraser making kit bought from JapanKawaiYa on Etsy. Makes A hamburger, fries and soda eraser. Going to use it to make magnets for family for Christmas. Will probably buy more clay to make more.
- Two Sailor Moon art prints from a friend on LJ, one is a small poster of Eternal Moon Myu and the other is a small half page print with the princess and the prince.
- A small kawaii order from Rainbowcatz website. I bought another small drawstring bag and a washcloth. I am going to use the drawstring bag for another dice bag (I love having variety) and the washcloth I am probably going to frame. The washcloth is from one of my favourite kawaii lines, Delicous Sweets, I was quite pleased to find other items other then the pencil case. There is is a sticker sack, pencil and a memo pad I would love to buy. This is a kawaii store in Canada which means cheaper shipping for me. The shipping for my items were $1.55 and I only had bought $4.00 worth of items.
- Sailor Moon manga cover cost cards. This was a OMG never have seen this buy. There is two missing from the set but this will make beautiful art work for my future home.

What I have received so far this week:

- Fabric to make pillows for my boyfriend's parent's Christmas presents.
- Pokemon Center Sinnoh Starter metal keychain for my bag for college.
- Boyfriend's present- Slayers lineart postcards.

I think if I hadn't gotten my own paypal account, I'd still be relying on my boyfriend which would hinder what I could buy online. I also have an eBay and Etsy account, both of those accounts are just over a year old. My newest buying account is on Chasethechuckwagon account, I signed up just to buy one game I had been looking for.
